Retired

It is with little regret that I’m informing you all of my intent to retire this blog. All of my crazy domestic stuff can be seen over at Half Cocked Living instead. See you there!

This week I’m working on some clearing out my freezer and prepping for the upcoming weekend. I’m the head of kitchen for a monthly LARP group. It’s a pretty physical activity with gamers being the player-base. It’s my personal mission to use mainly homemade real food while keeping with the typical items they enjoy. The game food will be bought at the co-op and Costco.

It’s Monday, thought I’d go ahead and share our meal plan.

This week I shopped at Cub for my deals and decided to splurge a bit on seafood in honor of Mother’s Day.

If it looks like our meals are sparse it’s because I don’t plan our side dishes.

I just use what we have.

Hello world!

It’s me, Geekmum. Allow me to introduce you to my new blog, devoted to our families un-home-preschooling life and all of the little things we do. This isn’t meant to be a supplement to Giggedy Geekmum, just a second blog of a completely different nature. Lately I’ve been wanting to write really badly. Unfortunately none of the things I wanted to talk about have anything to do with geekiness or similar crafting.

In case you’re wondering what to expert here it will probably be a lot of linking with the occasional original kids craft or money saving tidbit thrown in. I’m a geek, don’t get me wrong. What you might not know is that I’m also a bit of a hippie, committed to nontraditional education and typical family friendly stuff. I’m poor like a college student… okay, maybe not that poor. ^_^

I’m also a HUGE fan of the Leapfrog brand and multimedia education. I like to fit it in between our trips to farms, nature centers, and the like. I’m pretty big on arts and crafts but that’s probably not much of a surprise considering my other blog.

Really, at this stage we’re just home, doin’ our unschooling thang.
